App Configuration

Auto-detected

Application configuration will be auto-detected at start up of MICpad. The binaries and paths, e.g. for examples and documentation, are configured here and will be used in other parts of MICpad, e.g. in the example dialog.

Auto-detected configuration

MICpad searches MICRESS or HOMAT applications in the following locations:

  • MICRESS_Bin or HOMAT_Bin environment variable

  • two directories up from the MICpad start up path assuming other MICRESS or HOMAT version installed at the same level as the started one

Auto-detected configurations cannot be changed. But they are useful to create own combinations. MICRESS version older than version 6.4 have to be set manually.

Note: Application configurations will be stored in a .micpadrc file in the user's home directory. If such a file exists, auto-detection will be skipped and the given configuration will be read from the resource file. Auto-Detect allows repeating this detection when something has changed on the computer.

Create new and modify configurations

New configuration can be created by changing the configuration name and clicking create. Changing applications might be more useful for developers. But examples can be installed at other locations and switching to the online documentation can be done here by entering the URL in the documentation entry.

New configuration using the online documentation

Note: An app configuration will be used only if it is enabled in the run configuration of the active driving file.
